August & Debouzy welcomes and appoints new Counsels

The law firm of August & Debouzy announced the arrival of Nicolas Gettler, counsel, in the litigation department and the appointment of 6 new counsels: Leslie Bensoussan, Hélène Billery, Benoît Javaux, Nathalie Lengaigne, Valérie Munoz-Pons and Diane Reboursier.
 
THE LITIGATION PRACTICE AREA
Nicolas Gettler joined the business litigation practice area as Counsel on December 1st, 2014 after having started his career and sat as a judicial magistrate for nearly 8 years. He sat as a judge, including inter alia in civil, criminal and labor divisions of courts and ruled on many civil, criminal, economic and commercial disputes. His expertise in white-collar crime, civil and commercial law and corporate litigation law is a valuable asset to the firm.
 
Benoît Javaux joined the firm’s business litigation practice area in 2005. He advises French and international companies in particular on contractual liability, product liability, corporate disputes, class actions and lobbying.
 
Valérie Munoz-Pons advises French and international clients on criminal law, business litigation and the press/media. She graduated from the HEC business school and the University of Paris II-Assas. She joined August & Debouzy’s business litigation practice area in 2007.
 
THE TAX PRACTICE AREA
Leslie Bensoussan joined August & Debouzy’s tax team in February 2008. She assists complex French and international organizations with the daily management of their tax matters: intragroup flow structuring, setting and defense of their transfer pricing policy, implementation and monitoring of tax integration, implementation of profit-sharing schemes and managing tax audits and dealings with the tax authorities. She also advises clients in connection with their LBO and restructuring transactions.
 
THE PUBLIC, REGULATORY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE AREA
Hélène Billery joined August & Debouzy in 2008 after having held several positions in France and abroad. Her area of expertise covers in particular all aspects of business public law. She offers advisory services and litigation strategies to private and public corporations on public purchasing (public procurement contracts, public service delegations, PPPs and complex contractual structures), State property law and regulatory law.
 
THE EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE AREA
Nathalie Lengaigne joined August & Debouzy’s employment practice area in 2009 after having worked for three years at the Lille bar and studied in the US (she holds an LL.M.). She assists companies evolving daily in a global context and advises on reorganizations and restructurings. She also assists clients in connection with individual and collective insolvency proceedings.
 
Diane Reboursier joined August & Debouzy in January 2007. She assists French and foreign companies established in France with their day-to-day management of individual and collective work relationships as well as the implementation of specific projects (reorganizations, corporate transfers, employment protection schemes). She regularly represents her clients in connection with litigation matters (including inter alia reality television and renewable fixed-term employment contracts).

About Leslie Bensoussan:
Member of the Paris bar since 2006, Leslie Bensoussan holds a Master’s degree in tax law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne (2005) and a Master’s degree in Applied Tax from the University of Paris Est Créteil (2006). She joined August & Debouzy’s Tax practice area in 2008 after having worked for two years at the law firm of SBKG.
 
About Hélène Billery:
Hélène Billery holds a Master’s degree (DEA) in comparative public law from the University of Paris I (2004). She started her career as a lawyer (juriste) at the French business law firm of Sygna Partners (2004-2007). She gained experience abroad, including in Canada and the US, thus broadening her areas of expertise, which include business public law, public purchasing, administrative litigation and public health.
 
About Nicolas Gettler:
With sound knowledge of the economic world, acquired during his three years of studies at the EDHEC business school, Nicolas Gettler also holds a degree in Accounting and Finance (D.E.C.F.) and a Master’s degree in Private law from the University of Paris X-Nanterre (2004). In 2006, he was admitted to the French National School for the Judiciary.
 
About Benoît Javaux:
Benoît Javaux became a member of the Paris bar in 2007. He holds a degree from Sciences Po Lyon, a Master’s degree in Private Law from the University of Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in Business law from the University of Paris-IX Dauphine. Benoît Javaux teaches a tutorial on the drafting of legal instruments as part of the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense’s Master’s degree program in fundamental private law.
 
About Nathalie Lengaigne:
Nathalie Lengaigne holds a Master’s degree in Private law (2002) and became a member of the Paris bar in 2004. She also holds a Master of Law (LL.M.) in international business law (2009). She worked at the law firm of Hiscock & Barclay LLP (NY), and at the Supreme Court of the State of New York with Judge Penny M. Wolfgang.
 
About Valérie Munoz-Pons:
Valérie Munoz-Pons holds a Master’s degree (Majeure) in Tax and International Law Strategy from the HEC business school (2005) and a Master’s degree (DESS) in International Tax Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas (2005). In 2007, she joined August & Debouzy’s Business Litigation and Intellectual Property team.
 
About Diane Reboursier:
Diane Reboursier holds a Magistère degree in Business Law, a Master’s degree (DESS) in Business and Tax Law and an Intellectual Property Diploma from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas. She has been a member of the Paris bar since 2007. She joined August & Debouzy’s employment practice area in January 2007 as a trainee lawyer, and then went on to become an associate.
