August Debouzy’s business litigation & arbitration team is pleased to welcome two new partners. The practice now occupies a key place in the market with 5 partners and 16 associates.

Carine Dupeyron, 39, admitted before the Paris and New York bars, has been appointed partner. Her goal is to strengthen the development of August Debouzy’s international arbitration practice. She joined the firm after having spent nine years with Anglo-Saxon law firms in France and abroad.

Appointed as an arbitrator on several occasions, Carine Dupeyron, principally acts as counsel in complex arbitration proceedings, such as in an international arbitration where she acted for a foreign sovereign fund or in a domestic arbitration between two major Telecommunications operators. Carine Dupeyron has also been representing Transdev, a subsidiary of Veolia Environnemment, when proceedings were initiated against her client by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in order to obtain a ban on the operation of the Jerusalem light rail.

Carine Dupeyron sees her appointment as a milestone: “Arbitration and litigation matters are often long and complex. Beyond expertise, what makes the difference is perseverance and even combativeness. Being appointed partner is first and foremost recognition of my work. It also means the beginning of new projects, as part of a respected and valuable team”.

Benjamin van Gaver, 36, has also been appointed partner in the same practice. He is a business litigator who acts in complex litigation, involving, among other things, commercial law, criminal business law or media law. He represents, inter alia, the EADS group as well as several subsidiaries of la Caisse des Dépôts. Benjamin integrated the litigation team 10 years ago and wishes to pursue the development of such multidisciplinary litigation.
