This transaction marks the culmination of five years of legal advice provided by August Debouzy to the club, during which the firm has been involved at every stage: conciliation and *mandat ad hoc* proceedings in 2021 and 2022, the opening of judicial reorganization proceedings (*redressement judiciaire*) in July 2024, the adoption of the restructuring plan through classes of affected parties in June 2025, proceedings before the DNCG (French football’s financial regulatory body) and the administrative court in the summer of 2026, followed by negotiations regarding the takeover with the new investor and the club’s main creditors (AGS, public-sector creditors, existing financial creditors and local authorities), as well as negotiations on the terms of the amendment to the restructuring plan. Founded in 1881 and six-time French champion, the club can now move forward on a stronger financial footing, following a significant reduction in its debt through successive negotiations.
