With approximately 240 employees, Lextenso is a well-established player in the French legal publishing industry, bringing together renowned brands including *Gazette du Palais*, *Defrénois*, *LGDJ*, *Bulletin Joly* and *Petites Affiches*. The company operates across two main business areas: legal publishing and information services, and legal formalities and statutory announcements, a market in which it holds a leading position in France. With La Base Lextenso + IA, Lextenso offers a modern legal database and research platform that already incorporates AI-powered features. Founded in 1763 and owned by the same family for seven generations, C.H.Beck is Germany’s leading legal publisher. The group employs more than 2,500 people across Europe and operates in legal, academic and literary publishing, as well as legal technology and software solutions. As part of the C.H.Beck group, Lextenso will retain its own brand identity and existing management team. Both business divisions are expected to continue growing, supported by C.H.Beck’s expertise and resources. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
