New initiatives by the next Commission

The Commission might present new initiatives in 2023, in addition to the texts already under examination, including the revision of pharmaceutical legislation, a proposal on food and textile waste, the regulation of the electricity market, new anti-corruption rules, and a non-legislative initiative on virtual worlds such as the “metaverse”… In addition, in its work program the Commission indicates that it will examine outbound strategic investments controls of European companies investing abroad. For the time being, this is just a possibility, but one that should be carefully monitored.
