Using our cross-disciplinary expertise to aid your development in the European environment

Our dedicated team is made up of bilingual and trilingual lawyers who are well-known for their daily practice of EU law and familiar with the workings of European institutions. They offer expertise that is unique in this market and have access to a high-quality network of lawyers in several European Union Member States.

Whether assessing the impact of European law on a business or a project, drawing up contracts for a commercial relationship or cross-border transaction, or managing human resources on a European scale, our team ensures that its French and foreign clients’ businesses comply with the applicable rules.

Using its thorough knowledge of the applicable regulations and anticipating how they may evolve, particularly in terms of consumer, competition, financial markets, intellectual property and employment law, as well as regulation of data processing or information technologies, our dedicated team provides advisory, litigation and arbitration support to the legal, IT and financial departments of international companies.

Interventions

French legislation provides for State authorities to control the acquisition by foreign and European companies of stakes or interests in strategic sectors. This control is now exercised in the context of a European mechanism for the monitoring of such transactions. We advise our clients on the authorization procedure and assist them with any appeals in the event that authorization is refused.

Every EU Member State has its own specific legislation on the control of foreign investments. Our expertise and our network of partners enable us to give our clients the best advice on the investment strategy to be adopted.

A number of our lawyers are members of European bar associations (London, Munich, Barcelona, Brussels, for example) and have the ability to practice in several languages when required (including in English, German, Spanish, Italian and Czech). We are also partnered with leading firms established all over Europe, which allows us to advise our clients when making decisions about establishing themselves on the continent.

Responding to European tender procedures or submitting plans for the financing of European programs can be extremely complex. Our team assists you throughout these processes, from identifying relevant tender procedures to preparing the necessary response.

Our team assists you in your dealings with the various departments of the European Commission, or, where applicable, of the European Parliament, by replying to questionnaires, participating in investigations, or drafting, filing and following up complaints concerning the compliance with EU law of the legislation of a Member State.

It can be difficult for companies to follow developments in EU law. We constantly monitor changes in the legislation and help our clients anticipate and understand new regulatory requirements and transposed laws, thus facilitating their implementation by the companies concerned.

With our expertise in all sectors of EU law (including environmental law, financial regulation, competition law, consumer law, internal market regulation, etc.) and our ability to assess its impact on businesses, we can work with you to prepare strategies and arguments capable of convincing the Commission and European legislators.

We assist you with any action relating to the compliance of national laws with EU law.

We assist our clients in proceedings brought before the European Court of Justice (including preliminary rulings, infringement proceedings and actions for annulment) and before the European Court of Human Rights.

The United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union will have major impacts on the French and European economies. We can help you to make sense of the situation as it unfolds and to anticipate the employment, tax, financial, customs, commercial and legal consequences of the new relationship between the UK and the EU.
