Xavier Rohmer has been a partner in August Debouzy's Tax and Asset Management team since 2005.
He began his career at the French Ministry of Finance, where he served for four years, before joining Baker McKenzie in Paris in 1989. He then led the International Desk of Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte in London, overseeing operations for Southern Europe for two years. In late 1992, he returned to Paris to join the Corporate Finance department of Coopers & Lybrand Legal and Tax (now Landwell & Associés since 1999). He was made partner in 1997 and later co-led the M&A department at Landwell & Associés. From 2004, he also served as a member of the firm's executive committee.
Xavier Rohmer assists private equity investment funds and major corporations in addressing financial and tax challenges related to their acquisitions and divestitures. He also provides comprehensive advice on restructuring, growth capital strategies (fundraising), management packages, wealth and asset structuring, and executive compensation (capital gains, wealth and property wealth taxes (ISF/IFI), stock options, bonus shares, etc.). Additionally, Xavier advises regulated professions, such as public notaries and chartered accountants.
He leads and continues to develop the tax litigation and criminal tax law practice, serving both corporations and individuals. This area has become an increasingly significant focus within the tax department. Additionally, he has also established a Private Wealth practice aimed at French and international executives, managers, and private investors in relation with family offices and private banks in the financial market.
