Elie Bétard was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2014 and joined August Debouzy the same year.
He assists French and foreign companies with their day-to-day tax issues and in connection with restructuring transactions (partial contributions of assets, merger, share buyback, capital reduction), acquisitions (acquisition structure, management of intra-group flows, tax impacts of the contemplated financing, tax due diligence of target company) or the setting up or development of activities in France (possible structuring, tax treatment of cross-border flows).
He also assists companies in connection with tax audits and litigation.
In addition, Elie advises individuals on wealth and asset taxation issues (assistance to executives in structuring their equity interest prior to a business sale or a refinance transaction; gifts and inheritance; tax issues relating to impatriation and expatriation).
Elie holds an LL.M in International Tax Law from King's College London (2013) and was awarded the “Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers” Award. He also holds a DJCE (Corporate Lawyer diploma)/Master’s degree (Master 2) in Business Law and Taxation from the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux IV (2011).
