August Debouzy assisted Neot Offgrid Africa (“NOA“) as part of its participation in the largest portfolio of mini-solar network projects never realized and the creation of a dedicated investment platform, Winch Energy IPP Holdings Limited.
NOA, a joint venture created by Meridiam, EDF and Mitsubishi Corporation, to participate, in partnership with Winch Energy Limited, in the development and financing of mini-solar network projects in 49 villages in Uganda and Sierra Leone (“the project”) through the creation of a new platform. The latter will allow both entities to quickly expand their operations in Africa by stimulating economic growth and improving education and health care in isolated communities.
The various sites located in Uganda and Sierra Leone will provide more than 60,000 consumers with clean energy for the first time. The Project will also allow residents Internet access through partnerships with telecommunications operators in both countries. The Sierra Leone component of the Project has already received Environment Impact Award as part of the British Expertise International Awards 2020.
August Debouzy assisted NOA with a team composed of Leïla Hubeaut (Partner) and Ergen Ege (Counsel).
