Jean-Claude Cotoni joins August & Debouzy as Senior Counsel in the Mergers & Acquisitions Team

Jean-Claude Cotoni is joining the mergers and acquisitions team, which includes 6 partners and 20 associates, and is led by Gilles August. This addition will further strengthen August & Debouzy’s Corporate and Private Equity practice.

Jean-Claude Cotoni has recognized expertise in mergers and acquisitions, and private equity. Over the course of his career, he has acquired extensive experience in domestic and cross-border transactions. For some thirty years he has advised French and international industrial companies and private equity funds. His experience has led him to develop particular expertise in the transport and logistics, and press sectors, and more recently, in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Jean-Claude Cotoni’s seniority, and recognized know-how and experience clearly represent an added asset for August & Debouzy’s corporate team and are a good fit with the firm’s current team.

August & Debouzy’s Corporate team as such is pursuing its growth and continues to strengthen its legal services with the aim to always better serve its clients. In this respect, the team’s goal is to further increase its capabilities and continue to attract new talent.

About Jean-Claude Cotoni:

Admitted to the Paris Bar (1988), Jean-Claude Cotoni earned a post-graduate degree (DESS) in tax and business law from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and an earlier master’s degree (Maîtrise) in tax and business law from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas. In 1988, Jean-Claude Cotoni joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Elected partner in 1991, he was the managing partner of the Paris office from 2004 to 2007.

Jean-Claude Cotoni has been teaching at the EDHEC Business School (Lille) and at Institute of Business Law (IDA) at the University of Aix Marseille for nearly 10 years.
