The closing of the transaction took place on Wednesday October 14, 2015 following approval from the French Competition Authority granted on October 7, 2015.

The signing of an exclusive agreement was announced on June 22, 2015 and the transaction was completed on August 31, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals and information and consultation of employee representative bodies.

The transaction amounts to approximately EUR 220m.

 

With 20,000 staff in over 200 laboratories across 38 countries, Eurofins Scientific, a company listed on the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange (EUFI.PA), is the world leader in food, environment and pharmaceutical products testing. It is also one of the global market leaders in agroscience, genomics, discovery pharmacology and central laboratory services.

Biomnis, one of the largest independent laboratories offering specialty diagnostic testing services in France and Ireland, employs about 1,200 staff and provides its services in more than 40 countries. Biomnis generated over EUR 220m revenues in 2014, three-quarters of which from specialty diagnostics services. Biomnis acquisition strengthens Eurofins Scientific's pharmaceutical and genomic service offering, and also consolidates its growing presence in the specialty diagnostic testing sector.
