Article IT et données personnelles Droit de la concurrence, consommation et distribution Contrats commerciaux et internationaux | 15/05/17 | 1 min. | Florence Chafiol Stéphanie Lapeyre

he General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) was adopted just over a year ago, on 27 April 2016. This new regulatory framework substantially amends the applicable rules regarding data protection and privacy. As from 25 May 2018, it will apply to players (companies or public bodies) already subject to the French Data Protection Act, but also to new actors who previously were not directly concerned (e.g.: companies not established in the European Union but processing personal data from European data subjects in the context of the offering of goods or services).

Indeed, in order to anticipate its application and reach an adequate level of compliance by 25 May 2018, it is crucial to begin right now an in-depth reflection on the approach to be adopted, the measures to be implemented, the structure to be set up as well as to establish an appropriate action plan.

August Debouzy proposes to assist you during the next twelve months in these steps of compliance, thanks to newsletters which will be released every month until May 2018 on the topics and key changes of the GDPR, together with free trainings for our clients and prospects in our offices. These newsletters and trainings aim to be used as road maps to guide you in your GDPR compliance process.
