RATP relinquished its stake in Transdev

On March 3, 2011, RATP relinquished its stake in Transdev in exchange for French and international assets (including, inter alia, the operation of various bus lines in London and Genoa transport), this transaction being a prerequisite to the merger of Transdev and Veolia Transport, which will create a leading worldwide private player in the sustainable mobility sector.

August & Debouzy advised RATP on this matter over a period of almost 2 years.

Besides an extensive legal audit carried out in late 2009 and early 2010, which allowed the corporate, government & regulatory, tax and labour law teams led by Gilles August, Valéry Denoix de Saint Marc, Dominique de Combles de Nayves, Marie-Hélène Bensadoun and Philippe Lorentz, and the teams from our partner firms, Nabarro LLP, Macchi di Cellere e Gangemi and Meyer Lustenberger, to demonstrate their expertise in public transport issues, A&D’s teams took part in the negotiation, conclusion and execution of the contractual agreements for the transaction.

The corporate and tax teams are now handling the legal and tax integration of the received assets into the RATP group, both in France, Great Britain and Italy, and the government & regulatory, labour law and corporate teams look forward to supporting the RATP in its development in the future.
